RESPONSE is a comprehensive high school-based program that increases awareness about suicide among high school staff, students and parents. All of the program components are designed to heighten sensitivity to depression and suicidal ideation, as well as offer response procedures to refer a student at risk for suicide.

ASIST is for formal or informal caregivers in any community, group or organization. The program objective is to enhance caregiver skills to intervene with a person at risk of suicide in order to achieve safety for now. The desired outcome for this program is to increase suicide intervention skills and build community networks.

PREREQUISITES, DURATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Adults and youth age 16+. Two days, delivered by a minimum of two trainers. A maximum of 30 participants per workshop.
safeTALK is for any individuals, groups, communities or organizations wanting to be alert to persons with thoughts of suicide and to connect them to suicide intervention resources. The program objective is to help participants recognize people thinking of suicide and learn to apply basic TALK steps. The desired outcome for this program is to increase the number of people in the community who are alert to suicide and take the first steps to help a person with thoughts keep safe.

PREREQUISITES, DURATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Adults and youth age 15+. 3.5 hours, delivered by one trainer and one designated community resource person. A maximum of 30 participants
suicideTALK awareness program is for any individuals, groups, communities or organizations wanting to raise awareness and open discussion about suicide. The program objective is to help make it easier to have open and honest talk about suicide. The desired outcome for this program is to increase suicide intervention skills and build community networks.

PREREQUISITES, DURATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Adults and youth age 15+. 60 – 90 minutes, facilitated by one session leader. A maximum of 50 participants
